Eleven congregations complete Sacred Conversations on Race + Action

In October, PIIN launched Sacred Conversations on Race + Action, a series of congregation-based discussions designed to provide a safe space to discuss race and racism in our country and in our communities. Since then, members at eleven congregations have reflected on their own past experiences and challenged one another to expand their own levels of personal awareness.

PIIN members gather to support “Clean and Green” plan for Pittsburgh

On December 1st, PIIN and The Clean Rivers Campaign co-hosted a presentation of the city of Pittsburgh’s “Clean and Green” plan to solve flooding issues and stop the pollution of waterways every time it rains. The plan was released earlier that morning and is available in draft form for public commentary.

PIIN joins in the Fight for $15 National Day of Disruption

On November 29th, workers in Pittsburgh joined the nationwide Fight For $15 Day of Disruption to advocate for a living wage and a voice on the job for every working American. In addition to fast-food workers, UPMC and Giant Eagle employees also walked off the job and joined in the fight.
