Ntosake, Gamaliel’s national leadership development program for women, hosted a three-day leadership development training in Ligonier from September 15-17. PIIN sent nearly 80 participants from western Pennsylvania to join in the training.

Deriving from the South African word for “she who walks with lions; she who carries her own things,” Ntosake is a woman-only event that provides women with the tools to affect change in their lives, congregations, and communities. This year’s national training had three separate programmatic tracks to accommodate women in various stages of leadership experience and development.

As the lesser-publicized victims of police brutality and an ever-growing population of incarcerated Americans, women have a critical role to play in many national conversations about structural racism and economic inequity.

PIIN is proud to play a role in developing women as emerging leaders in their congregations and communities, and we look forward to the continued success of our past and present Ntosake participants.
