Take Action with the Transformational Justice Task Force on November 18

This fall, PIIN launched its Transformational Justice Task Force—a task force focused on the difficult and necessary work of addressing mass incarceration and the lingering disability that frequently follows it.

We know that over-incarceration disproportionately affects communities of color—unjustly denying people the right to earn a decent living, obtain affordable housing, and spend critical time with their children and families. As an organization, PIIN is seeking to elevate these issues in response to the unacknowledged and unmet needs of many of our fellow congregants.

On November 18, the Transformational Justice Task Force is co-convening two very important events to address these issues. We hope you’ll join us:

Formerly Incarcerated Leadership Training
November 18, 2017
10:00am-4:00pm
Friends Meeting House: 4836 Ellsworth Ave. Pittsburgh, 15213

Embracing the Returning Citizen: Restoring Dignity to the Formerly Incarcerated
November 18, 2017
6:00pm-8:00pm
Rodman St. Missionary Baptist Church: 6111 Rodman St. Pittsburgh, 15206

If you have further questions about either of these events, please call the PIIN office at 412-621-9230 or send an email to office@piin.org.
