October Community Meeting with Terri Minor-Spencer

Terri Minor-Spencer is the Founder and Executive Director of the grassroots non-profit organization West End P.O.W.E.R. – whose mission is providing opportunities with effective resources by giving back by doing works of service with employment supports), educational civics & awareness, etiquette, empowerment, and social/home needs.

She is also the Outreach Coordinator of The Community of Change Center – a safe community space for community members, unity building, returning citizens and guests to have unity fun, job readiness, adult G.E.D. 6-month schooling, home economics, Spanish class, and Entrepreneur Readiness. Terri serves on the committee of multiple boards & committees.

Terri Is a member of the Center for Shared Prosperity Committee, whose mission Is to dismantle economic, cultural, social, & structural barriers of entry. Terri has received a proclamation for her advocacy, activism, community outreach, and volunteerism, making October 7th Terri Minor-Spencer Day in the City of Pittsburgh. Terri is a graduate of the Emerge PA Cohort which teaches women how to run for office. Terri is one of Pittsburgh Courier 2019 Women of Excellence Awardees, She is a Certified Recovery Specialist, Notary, and Travel Advisor.

Terri has been featured in Public Source, Brennan Center for Justice, She was a candidate for The Jefferson Awards 2021, featured on 90.5 WESA segment “The People Who Make The Place They Live A Better Place” She has been featured in NOBLE Magazine(National Organization of Black Legal Executives) She has spoken at the viewing “The Sentence” the documentary of a mother of three 15-year prison sentence under the mandatory/minimum. In 2018 Terri ran for 12th District Z0th Ward Committee Woman, and won! She has been and continues to be unapologetic while she continues to work selflessly and relentlessly in her fight for a change of the good ole machine that condones criminalization and incarceration of our communities.
