Get Woke with Rev. Cornell William Brooks this March

This March, Rev. Cornell William Brooks, former President and CEO of the NAACP, will join Temple Sinai and the Pennsylvania Interfaith Impact Network for two days of special programming in Pittsburgh.

Rev. Brooks is an ordained minister, civil rights attorney, and national activist committed to prophetic social justice. Currently, Brooks serves as Senior Fellow at the Brennan Center where he addresses both criminal justice and voting rights issues. Don’t miss your opportunity to hear from him this March:

“Nightmares, Dreams, and Moral Imagination”: Thursday, March 15 at 7:00pm

On Thursday, March 15, Rev. Brooks will lead an interfaith and interracial dialogue program to challenge people of faith to commit to creating a more tolerant and just society. This event is free and open to the public. It will take place at Temple Sinai (5505 Forbes Ave.) with a welcome reception taking place prior to the event at 6:15pm.

“Getting Woke: From Imagination to Collective Action”: Friday, March 16 at 8:45am

On Friday, March 16, the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary will host religious leaders for a workshop with Rev. Brooks to dive more deeply into the work of creating a just society. The workshop will run from 8:45am-1:00pm and will be hosted in the John Knox Room of the Seminary (616 N. Highland Ave.). The day will consist of a keynote address from Rev.
